Project Access for PAs for Latino Health
Posted about 1 year ago by Paola Gonzalez in Announcements
Hello all
I wanted to provide an update on our Project Access efforts.
We have been able to gain approval to attend the upcoming career fest at Channelview High School on November 17,2023.
The total minority enrollment is 95%, and 82% of students are economically disadvantaged. 81.3% are Hispanic, 11.2% Black, 4.9% White and 1% American Indian/Alaska Native.
Our goal will be to expand knowledge on the healthcare career opportunities particularly as a PA to increase the diversity of our profession and bring those students back to their communities to provide high quality care.
Looking ahead with great enthusiasm, we are committed to hosting many more events in the future, continuing our mission to introduce and promote the PA profession, and empowering young minds to pursue rewarding careers in healthcare.
I want to thank the NALHE National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives for this great opportunity.
Lastly I want to call out our members Melissa Arvide PA-C and Daniel Mata PA-C who will be there representing the organization and supporting our mission.
Adelante!

This is a proud moment for the future of our profession representing our community.
I am excited for students to see providers that look like them and encourage the next generation of leaders!!
