There is a wide variety of lectures planned (see attachments)- including 1 hour of opioid use education, as required for the renewal of an NJ physician assistant license

Keynote Speakers:

Our keynote speakers, Doctors Vance and Vince Moss, are brothers, soldiers and surgeons. They offer a unique perspective on life shaped by their persistence to do good and care for others. Both are Army Reserve Medical Corps members that have been deployed numerous times to the Middle East, and as civilian physicians they have gone on strictly humanitarian missions to treat those who needed help, regardless of who they were and what they could offer in return. These incredible men have been named the World News Tonight “Persons of the Year” in 2008, have been recognized by George W. and Laura Bush, interviewed by Oprah and the show “The Doctors”, and the list goes on. Importantly, they are also on teams with physician assistants who they respect and advocate for regularly. We are honored to have the Moss brothers as our keynote speakers at the 2023 NJSSPA CME Conference.

Point of Care Ultrasound Workshop:

This workshop will assist the Advanced Practice Provider:

1.To develop a greater comprehension for basic ultrasound terminology, pearls and pitfalls,
and it's utility across patient care.
2. Identify correct patient, clinician position, and equipment settings for optimal scanning.
3. Define indications and cautions with the Focused Assessment of Sonography in Trauma
(FAST) Exam.
4. Identify anatomic structures and findings consistent with a positive vs negative FAST
Exam.

Suture Training Workshop:

Regardless of your level of experience with wound closure and care, this workshop provides training
and practice in basic to more advanced suturing techniques required in most primary care, urgent care,
and ED settings. Whether you are a beginner to those advanced individuals that need a refresher
course, this small class size and knowledgeable instructors will make sure you leave the workshop with
confidence in your suturing techniques.
