The Physician Assistant Program Admissions Success Seminar (PA-PASS)

Though any student interested in a career as a physician assistant is invited to attend, this workshop is specifically tailored to help candidates from populations that are underrepresented in the PA profession. It will include presentations on writing the application narrative, preparing for the interview and planning financial aid. This workshop will be presented by national PA leaders and break-out sessions hosted by successful PA students. Confirmed speakers: 

Dr. Pangela Dawson joined Morehouse School of Medicine in 2017 as the founding director of the PA Program.  She received her PhD from the University of Kentucky. Her current research interests include identifying early indicators for student success and enhancing cultural proficiencies in medical education. Her clinical interests are orthopedic pediatrics and pain management.

Samora Charles, MSPAS, PA-C, MPH is the Senior Director of Planning and Development for PAs of Color.  Her responsibilities include establishing goals and milestones for projects, programs and events and monitoring their progress.  When not working full-time as a PA, she utilizes her story of success to inspire and mentor others to achieve their dreams.

Dr. Donna Murray is Senior Director, Admissions/CASPA at the Physician Assistant Education Association in Washington, DC.  As a physician assistant she specialized in adult primary care and surgical trauma. She is a strong advocate for health care especially for un- and underinsured families.
