Finances and Retirement 101

PALH is excited to welcome Andrew Baker, PA-C, the Founder of PA4Finance, an AAPA SIG, for an informative talk on Finances and Retirement.

About our speaker: 

Andrew is a graduate of the University of Findlay Physician Assistant Program in May 2012. He was class President and a member of the honor society, Phi Kappa Phi. As a PA-C, Andrew has worked in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Dermatology. Currently, he practices full-time doing both medical and surgical Dermatology. He recently began speaking for a bioscience company regarding the application of genetic expression profiling for melanoma to improve patient outcomes.

Andrew has mentored and coached many PAs and colleagues who were troubled financially. This became a continued passion with a desire to learn more. For these reasons, he went back to school and graduated with a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Findlay in May 2020. This education further shaped Andrew’s desire to learn about financial decision making and how it impacts Physician Assistants. Andrew is the President of the AAPA special interest group, PAs for Financial Growth. He then started PA 4 Finance, a financial advisory company designed specifically for PAs in any phase. Currently, he works with Pre-PAs, PA students, Practicing PAs and anyone else in the spectrum of the PA profession.

Lastly and most importantly, he has a wife, son and daughter. They enjoy traveling and doing outdoor activities. Andrew is an active coach in his kids sports. He has begun instilling chores, the importance of saving money and how to work toward a goal as a child.
