Rafael Pomales PA-C

MHS, PA-C, DFAAPA

Rafael Pomales Jr., MHS, PA-C, DFAAPA is a practicing physician associate (PA-C) at Clinicas Mi Doctor family medicine clinic in East Plano and lead clinician for several clinics; he has practiced for over 20 years in multiple specialties; including internal medicine, geriatrics, and family medicine. He is also certified in Advanced Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. PA Pomales is a 9-yr veteran of the US Army and served during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. He graduated from Cameron University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1998 and graduated from the Univ. of Oklahoma PA school with a Master of Health Sciences degree in 2000. Since then, he has been involved with the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to include member and Chairman of the Constituent Relations Work Group and was a past president for the Physician Associates for Latino Health (PALH), and la Academia de Asociados Medicos de Puerto Rico, In 2018, PA Pomales was awarded with the title “Distinguished Fellow” of the AAPA. He is also a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Associates (TAPA) and has participated as a scholarship board member with the National Hispanic Health Foundation. Mr. Pomales’ other hobbies include competitive bodybuilding, watching sports and movies, and spending time with his wife, Jennifer (also a PA), and his children.
